IPO's in Serbia

Belgrade, 29th February 2008

On Friday 29th February 2008, EBRD and Harrisons organized a seminar at the Hyatt in Belgrade, dedicated to IPO’s in Serbia. Hildegard Gacek, the Country Director for Serbia chaired the event, assisted by the EBRD Counsel for Serbia, Paul-Edouard Clos.

The seminar focused on the opportunities for Serbia and Serbian Companies in offering shares to the public, in particular bearing in mind the Serbian Government’s clear desire to launch a Public Offering for leading State owned companies later this year.

Slobodan Ilic, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance explained the Government’s view, followed by comments from Milko Stimac, President of the SEC, and Gordana Dostanic, Head of the BSE.

Harrisons from Belgrade analysed and commented on the necessary legislation required to successfully launch an offering of shares to the public in Serbia.
